What is public relations?
Public relations is the practice of managing and disseminating information from an individual or an organization to the public in order to affect public perception. Public relations and publicity differ in that PR is controlled internally, whereas publicity is not controlled and contributed by external parties.
What jobs can you get in PR?
There are SO many job avenues in public relations, which is why it is such a great industry. If you’re interested in entertainment PR, you could be a celebrity’s PR publicist, or work for a TV show. If you’re a fan of policy, you could end up as the director of government affairs for a company! Love promoting your favorite brands? You could work for an agency that represents huge brands across the country!
What do I get out of joining PRSSA?

What is the difference between agency life and corporate life?
PR agency: You manage PR for various client accounts
Corporate: You hold a communications/PR position within a company and only do work for that company
